A thought on the form and the substance of Russian vowel reduction

This paper is an attempt to formalize the Russian vowel reduction within a sub\-stance-free approach. My contribution consists in arguing that Russian vowel reduction is a strict quantitative phenomenon (not a qualitative phenomenon). Finally, I propose a motivation based on the representation of stress in different autosegmental frameworks.
