ЕВРИСТИЧНИЙ ПОТЕНЦІАЛ ПЕДАГОГІЧНИХ МЕТАФОР

Description

The article is devoted to reviewing pedagogical metaphors and their functional potential. Education is open to the integration of the metaphor. Pedagogical metaphors are like filters for understanding pedagogical theories or like examples of critical evaluation of numerous educational paradigms and practices. Through them, a strategic set of pedagogical decisions is activated in a certain context. Pedagogical metaphors, adopted and rationalized by teachers, are especially reflected in variousaspects of the didactic activity. Pedagogical metaphors represent specific reductions, crystallized in time, in relation to the desired type of personality, content, and specific strategies for preparation and evaluation, being the essence or form of ideologies and specific educational paradigms. Pedagogical metaphors go beyond disciplinary fields, thus can provide creative methods of interdisciplinary research that is fundamental to modern scientific development. The question of the metaphorization of pedagogical science is versatile and is revealed in such aspects as metaphorical conceptualization of the educational process and its participants in the language of various subjects of educational activity; contradictions in the metaphorical representation of the corresponding conceptual spherein the language aspect of teachers and students; development of recommendations for optimization of metaphors usage in the educational process, analysis of metaphors functioning in various educational fields (informatics, philology, natural sciences, philosophy, etc.). It can be argued that pedagogical metaphors play a role-forming and modeling function through the image that is decoded by cognitive imagination and senses that are perceived by the human mind. That is, the cognitive and heuristic potential of metaphor makes it a means of thinking and developing a student and teacher in the process of education.
