Description

This comma-delimited .csv file contains all 5,209 akṣaras in non-Indic vocabulary in the Corpus of Pyu Inscriptions (http://hisoma-huma-num.fr/exist/apps/pyu/index2.html). The transliterations of akṣaras are by Arlo Griffiths, Marc Miyake, and Julian K. Wheatley.

There are three columns:

1. Pyu inscription number

2. Line number in the inscription

0 means that there is only a single line in the inscription.

Some inscriptions have unusual values in this column when inscriptions are divided into sections that do not correspond to series of horizontal lines:

  1. 16: A, b, C, d: four sides of an object
  2. 24: 4MNK: labels for four monks (numbered a-d)
  3. 24: BTM: bottom of object
  4. 95, 99, 100: A, B: two sides of a token

3. Akṣara transliterated according to the system in

Griffiths, Arlo, Bob Hudson, Marc Miyake, Julian Wheatley. 2017. “Studies in Pyu Epigraphy, I: State of the Field, Edition and Analysis of the Kan Wet Khaung Mound Inscription, and Inventory of the Corpus.” Bulletin de l’École française d’Extrême Orient 103: 43–205.
