Description
The nature and characteristics of any approach to the language situation in Ukrainian universities, in the education system in general and in the linguistic competence of pupils and students directly depend on the understanding of the goals and objectives are achieved and are put in that system. Compliance with the language situation and linguistic competence to the strategic objectives of national and state development is provided by the state language policy. Ukrainian scientists approaches to the understanding of the purpose of education are distinguished by a tendency to focus on applied aspects of the educational process and its role in the process of nation creation and formation of national identity. The education sector should contribute to the expansion functions of the Ukrainian language as a result of granting it the status of a single state language. In the field of education the final formation and consolidation of linguistic competence of the individual come off. Language competence has the ability to change during the follow-up activity of personality, but its angular grounds and defining principles show a high level of inertia, remaining typically constant throughout the life of the individual. As a result of a number of factors such as the state language policy in education, university autonomy and their ability largely at own discretion to adjust the language practices and language behavior of the educational process depending on specific conditions and circumstances – educational field identifies the language issue in certain independence.
