Висвітлення питання про польський вплив на українську мову в науковій літературі

The article analyzes the scientific works of Ukrainian and Polish linguists, dedicated to the Polish influence on the vocabulary of the Ukrainian language. Attention is paid to different approaches as for Polish borrowings defining. This is because the Polish fulfilled the role of borrowing sources, but the intermediary in borrowing from other European languages. Some researchers’ different points of view on the role of borrowings in the Ukrainian language formation is presented. Linguists scientific achievement is systematized according to sources, reflecting the state of Ukrainian vocabulary at certain stages of historical development, and describes approaches to study vocabulary in synchronic and diachronic aspects. On this basis, it was found that more attention was paid to research of Ukrainian monuments XIV - XVIII century. And every time the Polish-Ukrainian contact has a well-defined specificity. The analysis identified key areas for further research.
