Засоби вербалізації культурно значущого концепту «мовчання» в текстах Ольги Кобилянської

The phenomenon of silence as one of the main types of non-verbal components of communication plays an important role in the person’s communicative activities. Communicative meaningful silence is fixed in the artistic discourse. Today, there is an important issue of the verbalization of a specific person’s silence, including such original and creative as O. Kobylian-ska, who is a representative of modernism, which is characterized by subjectivism, attention to the spiritual, symbolic in life.

The article is devoted to peculiarities of verbalization of culturally important «silence» concept of the language picture of O. Kobylianska world, the multilevel means of silence including ideological and aesthetic writer’s dominants are examined, the synonymy of lexical, phraseological and other linguistic resources, which underscores the emphasis on the importance of silence are defined. Identified, adhering to the concept of the symbolists, O. Kobylianska perceives the silence as a symbol, the concept of «silence» in the works marked with the actualization of new meanings «anxiety», «death», «fear», «sadness», «precursor of misfortune», «protest», «the grudge».

During the verbalization process of the concept may be defined some correlation with the mythical perception of silence in the folk tradition.
