CLASSIFICATIONS OF METAFORS IN MODERN LINGUISTICS

The article describes the best known classifications of metaphors of Ukrainian and foreign linguists. Each socio-political process in the country is accompanied by the creation and functioning of a number of new metaphors. Theory of metaphor is thoroughly developed by world literary and theoretical science. Many famous theorists of literature from antiquity to the present have been worked on this issue, finding new and new theories of this trope. Besides, the author analyzes the types of metaphors that function in the language of the media. he author concludes that the parameters of the classification of metaphors are determined by the peculiarity of the plans of content and expression, depending on the context and functional specificity of the metaphorical sign, as well as the interrelation of the metaphors to the language levels.
