A REVIEW ON DESIGN AND ANALYSIS OF COMPOSITE LEAF SPRING

Recently,automobile industries have been attractin g toward cost saving of a vehicle by weight reducti on while maintaining/improving vehicle performance. Sm all amount of weight reduction in a vehicle can result in saving a lot of tons of fuel. Weight redu ction can be achieved by replacing conventional mat erial with the composite materials. Composite material ha s remarkable material characteristics,including hi gh strength to weight ratio,good corrosion resistance,light weight and high stiffness. The objective of this paper is to present the liter ature review on suitability of composite materials for leaf spring,by presenting literature review,gap in lit erature,future scope.
