The following article discusses the rationale of the concept of the European School of Berlin and studies its influence on the social integration process, as well as on the formation mechanisms of national identity of young immigrants of Polish origin living in Berlin. As a foundation for the conclusions herein serve the results of the qualitative research conducted since 2014 with students attending the European School “Robert-Jungk-Oberschule” in Berlin. The processes of integration of second generation polish immigrants is discussed in relation to the educational system – the acquisition of linguistic and cultural competencies, functioning in peer groups forming direct social relations, as well as their participation in the German society. The learning in European classes through bicultural and bilingual education, as well as the school aiming to support the student’s awareness of its origin, have a significant impact towards the integration of immigrants with the hosts’ society.
