EVALUATION OF PHYTOCHEMICAL AND ANTIMICROBIAL ACTIVITY OF DIFFERENT SOLVENT EXTRACTS OF SELECTED MICROALGAE AND PLANTS AGAINST MICROBES

Description

The study was emphasised on evaluating the antimicrobial potential of the selected algae and medicinal plants against microbes The plants selected in the study are Ficusreligiosa,Cynodon dactylon and Tinospora cordifolia. The microalgae selected in the study are Kappaph ycusalvarezii (Red Algae) and Sargassum species (Brown Alga e) . The extracts were made from the following solvents,Cow urine,Benzene, acetone, ethanolfor from selected plants and algae. The different extracts were tested for their antimicrobial activity against microbes such as bacteria,Bacillus subtilis,Shigella flexneri,Escherichia Coli,Enterobacter cloacae which were obtained from Microbial Type Culture collection locate Indian Institute Of Microbial Technology located in Chandigarh,India
