FIGURE 1. The sampling site near the summit of the Scary Mound (=locus typicus) with a Lophelia pertusa gallery in the background. The manipulator of the Squid ROV is going to collect a dead trunk of Lophelia with life gorgonians, Sympagella sp. sponges, ophiuroids and hydroids (Image courtesy to MARUM, Bremen University).
