UV light and abrasion's role in degrading plasticulture films

  • 1. ROR icon University of Augsburg

Description

The dataset contains measurements and analyses of plastic material, including carbonyl index, wettability (optical contact angle), stiffness (Young's modulus), surface roughness, and FTIR spectra, to evaluate the effects of UV treatment and UV combined with abrasion on various samples.

Table of contents

The data is split into 13 parts:

Part 1 –   Carbonyl index of UV-treated and UV plus abrasion-treated samples: The carbonyl index (CI) was calculated by dividing the carbonyl band area by the reference band area of each sample. CI was used to evaluate carbonyl content over experiment time. The data is stored in file ESR06_11.csv, while metadata can be found in ESR06_11.docx.

Part 2 –   Optical contact angle of UV-treated samples: Optical contact angle values to evaluate the wettability of each sample. The data is stored in file ESR06_12.csv, while metadata can be found in ESR06_12.docx.

Part 3 –   Optical contact angle of UV plus abrasion-treated samples: Optical contact angle values to evaluate the wettability of each sample. The data is stored in file ESR06_13.csv, while metadata can be found in ESR06_13.docx.

Part 4 –   Nanoindentation of UV-treated samples: Young’s modulus values to evaluate the stiffness of certain samples. The data is stored in file ESR06_14.csv, while metadata can be found in ESR06_14.docx.

Part 5 –   Roughness of UV-treated and UV plus abrasion-treated samples: Roughness measurement to evaluate different roughness surfaces between treatments. The data is stored in file ESR06_15.csv, while metadata can be found in ESR06_15.docx.

Part 6 –   FTIR spectra: 3 FTIR spectra were measured from the ML2B sample to calculate the carbonyl index. The data is stored in file ESR06_16.csv, while metadata can be found in ESR06_16.docx.

Part 7 –   FTIR spectra: 3 FTIR spectra were measured from the ML2W sample to calculate the carbonyl index. The data is stored in file ESR06_17.csv, while metadata can be found in ESR06_17.docx.

Part 8 –   FTIR spectra: 3 FTIR spectra were measured from the GL1 sample to calculate the carbonyl index. The data is stored in file ESR06_18.csv, while metadata can be found in ESR06_18.docx.

Part 9 –   FTIR spectra: 3 FTIR spectra were measured from the GL2 sample to calculate the carbonyl index. The data is stored in file ESR06_19.csv, while metadata can be found in ESR06_19.docx.

Part 10 – FTIR spectra: 3 FTIR spectra were measured from the MS1 sample to calculate the carbonyl index. The data is stored in file ESR06_110.csv, while metadata can be found in ESR06_110.docx.

Part 11 – FTIR spectra: 3 FTIR spectra were measured from the MS2 sample to calculate the carbonyl index. The data is stored in file ESR06_111.csv, while metadata can be found in ESR06_111.docx.

Part 12 – FTIR spectra: 3 FTIR spectra were measured from the ML1B sample to calculate the carbonyl index. The data is stored in file ESR06_112.csv, while metadata can be found in ESR06_112.docx.

Part 13 – FTIR spectra: 3 FTIR spectra were measured from the ML1W sample to calculate the carbonyl index. The data is stored in file ESR06_113.csv, while metadata can be found in ESR06_113.docx.
