The publication constitutes the summary scientific document and testimony of the important international workshop held on the historic manor of Louhisaari in Finland. The manor is constituted by historic buildings in brick and timber structures located in a fascinating English park settlement. The main building is from 1655 and it is characterized by an important wooden roof structure, main object of the analysis of the workshop. The article is a synthesis of the main research themes in which researcher Sara Porzilli took part in her career working with the Department of Architecture DIDA of Florence and Department of Civil Engineering and Architecture DICAr of Pavia (Italy). The article reflects and complete the lecture that Sara Porzilli attended during the seminar. She has been invited from the organisation to take part in as expert in digital survey methods applied on wooden structures. Students, professors, experts, technicians from many different countries ( for ex. Portugal, Germany, Turkey, Italy, inland) have taken part in this international event.
This topic is inserted in the project plan of the Research Project n. 746215 entitled "Preserving Wooden Heritage". The project is financed by the European Commission with an Individual Marie S. Curie Fellowship assigned to PostDoctoral Researcher Arch. Sara Porzilli, who is working at the School of Architecture, University of Oulu - Finland.
