ORCiD als Metadaten-Aggregation für die GND

  • 1. Deutsche Nationalbibliothek

Description

The Open Researcher and Contributor ID (ORCID) is rapidly establishing as an international standard for the persistent identification of scientific authors. In the DFG-funded project ORCID DE (https://www.orcid-de.org), this standard is making better known and implemented in German scientific institutions.

From the point of view of the GND, the goal is to link the identifier systems ORCID and GND and to promote, expand and consolidate the linking of a person's representations. This has the advantage that all publications linked to a person in ORCID and in library catalogues can be aggregated and linked together. In this presentation the potential as metadata aggregation for the GND and the tasks of the German National Library in the project ORCID DE is presented.
