Literal abbreviations as terms

Description

The analysis of the principles and norms of the formation of scientific and technical terms poses a task for linguists to study the production and scientific and technical terminology, to study the ways of forming terms, enriching their vocabulary. Especially intensive is the process of enriching the vocabulary with special terms necessary for the science of developing industry, agriculture, science and technology.

The process of ordering terminology does not entirely coincide with the normalization of the literary language. The linguistic problems of ordering the terminology go far beyond preventing speech errors, legitimizing the phenomenon in the language, distinguishing them from the original state and the orthologic characteristics of lexical doublets. In defining the term, we proceed from the fact that the definition of the term requires the laying of the main essential feature from which all other signs inherent in the term can be derived. Such a sign, in our opinion, is an indication that the term calls any concept of a particular area of knowledge. Precisely because the term is the name of a concept, it is inherent in both unambiguousness, and systematic, and stylistic neutrality and definitiveness.

When justifying Turkish scientific and technical terms, the main attention should be paid to the semantic content of each term, to the content of the concept, which each term should express separately. Most of the terms that have won the right of citizenship must be revised, for they are terms that do not fully express the scientific concepts that they designate.
