Report on the Peace Making Ceremony held in Arbore, Ethiopia, 6-9 March 1993

This is the internal report of the initiative of assisting local pastoral communities in organising a large inter-ethnic peace making ceremony by their own procedures, ritual and symbolism. The report focuses on the SNV  external activity of facilitation. The documentary film 'Bury the Spear'  has independently   produced by Ivo Strecker and Alula Pankhurst.This peace making ceremony was very innovative in method and influential in the practice of development :  inter-ethnic peace making became a standard activity in the region, supported by several  international organisitations.
