Proceedings of the National Conference on Recent Trends in Functional Materials

The scientific world today has seen a massive development and advancement in the field of materials science. Materials science has been the key solution to the growing needs and requirements for smarter energy devices and innovative techno products which find wide range of applications in the optoelectronics, lasers, energy, biotechnology, superconductivity and nanotechnology.

In this context, Department of Physics, B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent University, Chennai is happy in organizing the National Conference on Recent Trends in Functional Materials (NCRTFM-2017) in addressing the needs of the current scientific scenario. The conference includes fruitful deliberations from the renowned scientists, researchers, technologists and entrepreneurs with primary focus on the nanomaterials, thin films, sensors, ceramic materials, biomaterials, polymer materials and materials for energy and environment.

The conference includes 5 special invited lectures by eminent invited scientists from across the country and also about 40 scientific papers in the form of oral presentations and poster presentations from young researchers. The contributed papers have been peer reviewed, compiled and published herein as proceedings, for the benefit of the research community.

The conveners are extremely happy to see the final outcome and quality of this research publications and it is our hope that the future generation of researchers would profit from it. The conveners take this opportunity to thank our vice chancellor who granted permission to conduct this conference. And at this juncture, conveners extend our sincere thanks to the organizing committee members whose untiring effort and meticulous planning has made this conference a reality.
