Although we all suspended in planetary networks, composed and configured by economic, political and cultural powers, brought to earth and located in an image, a sound, a poetics, such processes and procedures acquire unsuspected shape and critical immediacy. The enclosed essays seek to explore some of the historical forces and cultural perspectives that are sustained in such images and how these intercede in our understandings of contemporary art.
