Description
The database consists of homicides committed and prosecuted in Lancashire, England during the period of 1728-1830.
The data derive from the Minute Books of the Lancaster Assizes, Coroners' Inquisitions, Calendar of Crown Prisoners of Lancaster Castle and the Criminal Registers. These sources are kept in The National Archives in Kew, London and in the Lancashire Archives in Preston, Lancashire.
The data is distributed across three tables: tab_assizes, tab_inquisitions and tab_cases. See the attached file "description.txt" for further information on the data, the sources and for a more detailed description of the database.
