Remarks. Chauliodoniscus armadilloides was found at seven stations. Six of these stations were located near the type locality (63°08’N, 15°40’W, 1301 m, Hansen 1916) in the Iceland basin south of the Iceland-Faeroe Ridge, and the seventh locality is in the southwestern part of the Iceland basin, somewhat deeper (2537 m) than the other stations (Fig. 12 B). Other records are from the Rockall Trough and the Porcupine Seabight in depth down to 3550 m (Lincoln 1985b) and from the North Atlantic at 36°to 45°N, at depths between 3663 and 5240 m (Chardy 1974). Harrison (1989) found this species to be the second most common species at the Permanent station in the southern Rockall Trough.
