Sparsely recorded from the southern Atlantic as well as the Atlantic and Pacific sectors of the Southern Ocean (Burukovsky 1976; Tiefenbacher 1994; Hayashi 2006); New Zealand (Yaldwyn & Webber 2011); pelagic, 120–1150 m.
