Nematocarcinidae A. Milne-Edwards 1881

Description

Family Nematocarcinidae A. Milne-Edwards, 1881

There is considerable evidence that all records of Nematocarcinus south of the Antarctic Polar Front are based on N. lanceopes, despite other species being recorded. On the other hand, the taxonomy of species occurring in sub- Antarctic waters remains confused and clarification is not expected in the near future. Below, we simply summarize existing literature.
