Description
Ophidion iris Breder, 1936.
Brighteye Cusk-eel or Rainbow Cusk-eel. To 25 cm (9.8 in) TL (Lea in Fischer et al. 1995). Todos Santos (23°24.6’N, 110°13.8’W), southern Baja California (John Snow, pers. comm. to M.L.), Gulf of California to about Puerto Vallarta (Robertson and Allen 2015). Benthic; depth: 2–86 m (7–279 ft) (min.: Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California; max.: Robins in Nielsen et al. 1999).
