Echiniscoides horningi sp. nov. (Miller & Kristensen 1999)

Terra typica: Pacific Ocean (Macquarie Island, sub-Antarctic)

Pacific Ocean:

54°30′S, 158°52′E; 0 m bsl: [FAO81] Type Locality: sub-Antarctic, Macquarie Island, W coast of N tip of the island, supralittoral zone, lichen Caloplaca subjected to heavy sea spray. Miller & Kristensen (1999)

Remarks: Known only from the type locality, this species is probably closely related to E. travei, E. s. porphyrae and E. s. verrucariae, which are also known from similar habitats in the sub-Antarctic.
