Description

Ceratoscopelus maderensis (Lowe, 1839)

Scopelus maderensis Lowe, 1839: 87. Type locality: Off Madeira, Atlantic Ocean. Ceratoscopelus maderensis, Klausewitz, 1989: 257; Goren & Galil, 1997: 201.

Distribution. North Atlantic, Mediterranean; depth range 5–1082 m. In the Levant, the maximum known depth is 1480 m (Goren & Galil, 1997).
