Chalinura mediterranea Giglioli, 1893: 344. Type locality: West of Sardinia, Italy. Chalinura mediterranea, Jones et al., 2003: Tab. 2, 3.
Coryphaenoides mediterraneus, Gates et al., 2012: 217 –220.
Distribution. North Atlantic, Mediterranean; depth range 1000–4262 m. Recorded in the Ierapetra Basin, southeast of Crete, at a depth of 4262 m (Jones et al., 2003).
