Description

Dipolydora armata (Langerhans, 1880)

Type locality: Madeira Island, Portugal.

Type material: Syntypes: ZMH V- 1547.

Location and author of most recently described material: 1) Brazil (Radashevsky & Noguiera 2003); no Australian material examined; 2) Cala Olivera, Ibiza (north-western Mediterranean) (Bick 2001); no Australian material examined 3) south-western Western Australia (Sato-Okoshi et al. 2008).

Recorded distribution: Australia: Victoria, South Australia, Western Australia. Portugal; Spain; Gulf of Naples, Italy; Brazil; Belize; Taiwan; Vietnam; Thailand; Japan; Mexico; New Zealand (Otago, Marlborough Sounds, Wellington); Arctic and Antarctic Seas; South Africa.
