Caulolatilus princeps
Description
Caulolatilus princeps (Jenyns, 1840).
Ocean Whitefish. To 102 cm (40 in) TL (Miller and Lea 1972). Vancouver Island, British Columbia (Miller and Lea 1972) to Chile (Pequeño 1989), including Gulf of California and Islas Galápagos (Miller and Lea 1972). Depth: surface (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California), 3–189 m (10–620 ft) (min.: Limbaugh 1955; max.: M.L., pers. obs.). Caulolatilus hubbsi Dooley, 1978 is a junior synonym.
