Description
Parataeniophorus brevis Bertelsen & Marshall, 1956.
Short Tapetail. 4.6 cm (1.8 in) TL (Froese and Pauly 2019; note that we were unable to verify this record). Indo-Pacific (Fricke et al. 2020); southern California (34°09.6’N, 121°01.8’W) (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California). Epipelagic, mesopelagic, and bathypelagic; depth: 0–1,400 m (Mundy 2005).
