Gigantactis savagei Bertelsen, Pietsch, & Lavenberg, 1981.

To 15 cm (5.9 in) SL (Bertelson et al. 1981). Hawai’i; southern California (Bertelsen et al. 1981), and Isla Guadalupe (Personal communication: Los Angeles County Museum of Natural History Fish Collection, Los Angeles, California), central Baja California. Mesopelagic to bathypelagic; depth: taken in open nets fished above 700 m (2,297 ft) (Bertelsen et al. 1981), and at maximum depths of 5,396 m (17,700 ft) (Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California).
