TYPE DEPOSITORY: not stated.

TYPE LOCALITY AND HABITAT: Hiorthhamn in Mälardalen, Sweden and Adventdalen, Norway, in moss. NOTE: Athias-Henriot (1959) provisionally moved this species from Lasioseius to Proctolaelaps, Westerboer (1963) placed it in Garmania, and Christian & Karg (2006: 240) listed it as a species inquirenda.
