Alternative Tactics to Herbicides in Integrated Weed Management: a Europe-centered systematic literature review

Description

This dataset underpins a systematic review of alternative weed-control tactics to herbicides across major cropping systems in the EU-27 and the UK (2013–2022) conducted whithin the Horizon Europe Oper8 project. Each record reports the study’s bibliographic details and the integrated weed management (IWM) tactic(s) investigated, coded according to the IWMPRAISE framework.

  • Search source: Scopus

  • Classification framework whithin five Pillars:

    1. Direct control

    2. Field and soil management

    3. Cultivar choice and crop establishment

    4. Diverse cropping systems

    5. Monitoring and evaluation

Purpose
To provide an overview of current knowledge on non-herbicide weed-control options, quantify how extensively IWM tactics have been investigated, and highlight evidence gaps to guide future research priorities.
