16S rRNA sequencing of choanal swabs from H7N1-infected Ross 308 chickens under BSL-3 conditions

This dataset contains 16S rRNA gene sequencing data (V3–V4 region) obtained from choanal swabs of Ross 308 broiler chickens experimentally infected with low pathogenic avian influenza virus (H7N1) under biosafety level 3 (BSL-3) containment at IRTA-CReSA (Barcelona, Spain).

This data was used for the validation of machine learning models in our work, "Respiratory Microbiota Maturation Enables Machine Learning Based Age Prediction in Chickens".

Samples were collected from infected and non-infected control chickens at multiple days post-inoculation (0, 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 dpi) to assess respiratory microbiota dynamics during infection.

All procedures were approved by the institutional animal ethics committee and conducted under strict biocontainment and biosecurity regulations (BSL-3).
