Description

This study explores the impact of active methodologies on students' perception, appreciation, performance, and motivation in history/geography didactics and economics teaching classes in secondary teacher training. By incorporating serious games and AI-based simulations with ChatGPT, the research investigates gender and age dynamics. The methodology includes an Urban Game, a ChatGPT-driven historical simulation, and the creation of a museum exhibition poster. Data collection involves knowledge tests and surveys assessing cognition, emotions, and motivation. Findings reveal that both genders exhibit similar emotional patterns, with women reporting higher enthusiasm, pride, and inspiration, and men showing more irritability and energy. Younger students demonstrate greater intrinsic motivation, while older students are driven by extrinsic goals. The study underscores the importance of addressing gender and age differences to enhance the effectiveness and equity of active methodologies in education.
