Dataset for the manuscript entitled "Tolerance to ultramafic soils is mediated by control of Ca:Mg ratio in Santolina semidendata and associated taxa"

Dataset of a field and greenhouse trial on the response of different populations of the shrub Santolina semidentata and related taxa to the contrasting conditions of three soils derived from different bedrocks.

Five files are included:

"readme.txt" is a file where we explain the meaning of each column (and in which units is expressed) in each of the other four files.

"SOILS.csv" is a table with the granulometry, the pH, cation exchange capacity and concentrations (pseudototal, exchangeable or DTPA-extractable) of different chemical elements in the soil samples.

"SURVIVAL.csv" is a table reporting the number of plants per population that survived in each soil type until the end of the greenhouse trial.

"BIOMASS.csv" is a table reporting the root, shoot and total dry weigh of different plants from 5 populations growing on 3 different soils.

"PLANT_COMPOSITION.csv" is a table providing data on the concentrations of diverse chemical elements in the leaves of the 5 populations cultivated on three different soils.
