Description

This paper describes a bilateral comparison that was conducted between LNE and PTB on the measurement of S-parameters using an industry-grade connector, the 4.3-10 coaxial connector, typically used for telecommunications installations such as 4G LTE and 5G base stations. Among other connectors, the 4.3-10 connector is designed to have separate electrical and mechanical planes, leading to a low coupling torque. It provides a very stable passive intermodulation performance, independent from torque.
Both laboratories used the same root of traceability using their own traceable Type N calibration standards and a traceable Type N to 4.3-10 adapter, but different procedures to transfer traceability to the traveling standards. Comparison results including uncertainties are presented.
