Type locality: [Russia, Irkutsk city, N52°17', E104°18'] “ Irkutsk ” (Sseliwanoff 1878).

Lithobius proximus Sseliwanoff 1878: 21 (3 specimens: ♂, ♀).

Lithobius (Ezembius) proximus – Nefediev et al. 2017a: 218 (40 specimens: ♂, ♀); 2018: 230 (13 ♂♂, 2 ♀♀); 2020: 38 (3 ♂♂, 7 ♀♀, 6 juv.); Nefediev & Farzalieva 2020: 188 (more 100: ♂, ♀); Wytwer & Tajovský 2019: 1 (41♂, 78♀♀).

Previous records. Absent.

Distribution. From Eastern Europe (Poland, Ukraine) (Chornyi & Kosyanenko 2003; Wytwer & Tajovský 2019) to Russian Far East (Zalesskaja 1978; Nefediev & Farzalieva 2020).

Remarks. This species is new to the fauna of Mongolia.
