Local ignition due to a stream in 2D on the surface of a WD

Description

2D simulation of a stream hitting a Carbon-Oxygen WD surface with a helium shell. Each of the movies is of simulations with different helium shell base densities (mentioned in the name of the file). They are available in both density and temperature animated plots. Refer to the paper for stream parameters and other information. The pure helium shell cases have a helium shell base density of 5 x 105 g/cm3 and are the highest and lowest (labelled _lowres) resolution runs from the paper.
