ATLAS of plutonic rocks and orthogneisses in the Bohemian Massif

Description

The publication represents an attempt to provide structured information on the research status of plutonic and orthogneiss bodies primarily in the Czech part of the Bohemian Massif. The manuscript is divided into six parts:

INTRODUCTION
1. BOHEMICUM
2. MOLDANUBICUM
3. SAXOTHURIGICUM
4. LUGICUM
5. MORAVO-SILESICUM AND BRUNOVISTULICUM
DATA SUPPLEMENT

All parts of the atlas result from a compilation of published information and data without any attempt on the part of the authors to critically classify and correct them. Basic parameters of the individual plutonic bodies are accompanied by geological sketches, classification diagrams and tables of the chemical composition based on 4,500 chemical analyses including trace elements. A list of references used in constructing the given diagrams is an integral part of the atlas.

The monograph represents a loose continuation of the collective work by workers of the CGS Geological Atlas of the Czech Republic – Stratigraphy (in Czech), published by the Czech Geological Survey in 1994 for a wider geological public and teaching at universities. Our atlas represents an explanatory dictionary of the regional-geological nomenclature of plutonic bodies of the Bohemian Massif and it also features proposals concerning their terminology and hierarchical classification.
