MCRaT LGRB Broadband Spectropolarimetry Analyses

Description

The python codes and datasets in this repository are associated with the papers: Photospheric Prompt Emission From Long Gamma-ray Burst Simulations. I. Optical Emission, Photospheric Prompt Emission From Long Gamma Ray Burst Simulations. II. Spectropolarimetry, and Photospheric Prompt Emission From Long Gamma Ray Burst Simulations III. X-ray Spectropolarimetry. The movies associated with the third paper of the series are included here. 

The python codes can be run to analyze the MCRaT datasets that are provided and produce the plots and movies associated with the previously mentioned papers.

The MCRaT datasets are all the files that start with "mcdata_*.h5". The numbers following the mcdata_* correspond to the associated hydrodynammic simulation frames.

The FLASH hydrodynamic simulations that are needed to construct the movies and figures where photons are plotted with respect to the Gamma-ray Burst jet profiles are also provided. The file that has the data from the last frame of the 16TI simulation is:  rhd_jet_big_13_hdf5_plt_cnt_3092. The file that has the data for the 1999th frame (the last frame) and the 850th frame (the one where the jet structure is plotted with the location of the photons) are the "m0_rhop0.1big_hdf5_plt_cnt_*" files.
