Geospatial Data in Environmental Science

This presentation accompanies a 60-minute interactive workshop which presents relevant aspects of working with geospatial data in environmental science. The presentation is part of the 4-hour workshop "Data Management in Biodiversity and Environmental Science", that has been co-developed by NFDI4Biodiversity partners from GFBio, ZMT and Uni Leipzig for the "Biogeography & GfÖ Macroecology meeting 2024", to be held in July 2024 at the Philipps University of Marburg.

The presentation covers an introduction to geospatial data, a selection of typical formats for storage and sharing of geospatial data, metadata standards that are relevant to geospatial data in environmental science, as well as repositories for ecological data.
