Description
Der Blog „Keine Disziplin“ dokumentiert öffentlich meine Arbeit als Wissenschaftlerin/Dozentin an der Schnittstelle von Kulturwissenschaften, Area Studies, Schreibpraxis und Wissenschaftsmanagement.
Hier finden sich etwa Dokumentationen und Reflexionen zu meinen Kursen wie „Ditch the Dust – leserzentriertes Schreiben“, „Reading Amia Srinivasan’s The Right to Sex“, „Von Exotik bis Erkenntnis: Orientalismus auf dem Prüfstand von Wael B. Hallaq“ oder „Biopolitics and Disability: Navigating Jasbir K. Puar’s “The Right to Maim” in the Middle East“.
Zielgruppe sind Studierende, Forschende und Lehrende, die Interesse an kulturwissenschaftlichen Fragen, manchmal mit Regionalbezug zum sog. Middle East, sowie an einem disruptiven Nachdenken über Konventionen in der Wissenschaft haben. Neben Kursdokumentationen finden sich hier auch Analysen zu Themen wie Metawissenschaft, Publikationsnormen oder Wissenschaftlerhabitus, oder auch Game Studies. Der Blog lädt durch kritische Inhalte und Denkanstöße aus verschiedenen Disziplinen zum Perspektivwechsel ein.
Abstract (English)
The blog “No Discipline” publicly documents my work as a scholar/lecturer at the intersection of cultural studies, area studies, writing practice, and science management.
Here, for example, you will find documentation and reflections on my courses such as “Ditch the Dust – Reader-Centered Writing,” “Reading Amia Srinivasan’s The Right to Sex,” “From Exoticism to Cognition: Orientalism on Trial by Wael B. Hallaq,” and “Biopolitics and Disability: Navigating Jasbir K. Puar’s “The Right to Maim” in the Middle East.”
The target audience is students, researchers, and faculty who are interested in cultural studies issues, sometimes with a regional connection to the so-called Middle East, and in thinking disruptively about conventions in scholarship. In addition to course documentation, it features analyses of topics such as metascience, publication norms or scholarly habitus, and even game studies. The blog invites a change of perspective through critical content and thought-provoking perspectives from a variety of disciplines.
