Description

Idaea pallidata (Denis et Schiffermüller)

(Fig. 56, 68a, 68b)

Idaea pallidata: Beljaev & Mironov 2019: 277 (Sakhalin).

Material examined. 2 ♂, Tymovskoe, 8.VI.2003.

Distribution. Russia (RFE: central Sakhalin, central Khabarovskii Krai, Amurskaya Oblast; S Yakutia, S and W Siberia, Urals, European Part, N Caucasus), NE China (Heilongjiang), Mongolia, Kazakhstan, N Kyrgyzstan, Transcaucasia, Turkey, Europe.

Remarks. The finding of I. pallidata in Sakhalin significantly expands its distribution range to the east. This meadow species, strictly boreal in East Palearctic, was found in the central Sakhalin in a zone of the spruce-fir forests dominance. In the Europe the larvae feed on the wilted leaves of various dicotyledonous herbs and low shrubs— Taraxacum, Hieracium, Achillea (Asteraceae), Vaccinium (Ericaceae), Valeriana (Caprifoliaceae), and Filipendula (Rosaceae).
