Hydrelia shioyana (Matsumura)

Hydrelia shioyana: Beljaev & Mironov 2019: 269 (Sakhalin).

Material examined. 1 ♀, Kholmsk, center, 25.VI.2019; 3 ♂, 4 ♀, Yasnomorskoe and Sokhonda mount., 18, 19, 20, 23.VII.2019.

Distribution. Russia (S RFE: SW Sakhalin, S Kurils—Kunashir, S Khabarovskii Krai, Primorskii Krai), Japan (Hokkaido, Honshu), South Korea.

Remarks. The finding of H. shioyana in Sakhalin significantly expands its distribution range to the northeast. In Japan the larvae feed on Acer pictum (Sapindaceae) and Carpinus cordata (Betulaceae), of which A. pictum is common in SW Sakhalin.
