Description
The research conducted concludes the thesis project titled "Ecosystems and Social Conflicts in the Yabotí Biosphere Reserve, Misiones Province, Argentina." This project was supervised by Dr. Brian Ferrero and previously presented as part of the final stage requirements for the Master's in Social Anthropology at the PPAS (Postgraduate Program in Social Anthropology) of the FHyCS (Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences), UNaM (National University of Misiones). Additionally, it is part of a broader project under the CONICET scholarship named "Environmentalism and Social Conflicts in the Yabotí Biosphere Reserve, Misiones Province, Argentina," led by Dr. Brian Ferrero, co-supervised by Dr. Alina Báez, and to be presented in the future at PPAS-UNaM. Two key issues are considered in this thesis work: the capitalization of settlers as a process aimed at increasing the accumulation of economic benefits, a frequent subject in local studies on rural development; and poaching by settlers, an activity (illegal) subject to government control, recurrent in studies on conservation and protected natural areas.
