mdtanker/RIS_gravity_inversion: Final PhD Thesis Results

This release relates to the final version of my published PhD thesis chapters 3 and 4.

Included are some of the resulting data products. They are described below, and the preceding file paths show which folder they should be placed in within the github repository layout for the notebooks to run correctly.

  • previous gravity data but upward continued to 1km on a line-by-line basis with equivalent sources

  • previous gravity data but re-levelled. Started with 0th order levelling, iteratively alternating between levelling lines to ties, and ties to lines. Repeated with 1st and 2nd order levelling.

  • previous line gravity data gridded with equivalent sources at 2.5km resolution to give test and training datasets
• data/RIS_topo_corrections_levelled_mean_bed.csv.gz
  • gravity reduction including the levelled data, the terrain mass effect components, and the separated regional and residual field. These reducitions used the mean starting bed model.
• inversion_layers/RIS_starting_bed_stats.zarr
  • cell-wise stats of the ensemble of starting bed models for the Ross Ice Shelf
