The final conference of the EU project VIVALDI (Preventing and Mitigating Farmed Bivalve Diseases) took place in November 2019 in Brest (France). VIVALDI is a European scientific project, financed in the framework of the EU Research and Development programme called Horizon 2020. It has been carried out between 2016 and 2020 by a consortium of 21 partners, from 10 countries. VIVALDI’s overarching purpose was to increase the sustainability and competitiveness of the European shellfish industry. For this, it aimed at improving the understanding of the diseases and developing practical solutions to prevent, control and manage them. The main studied species were: oysters, mussels and clams
