The SunPoint project (SUn in Norway - POtential and INTegration of the solar energy resource, Norwegian Research Council project 320750) has spent 3 years improving the tools available to the Norwegian solar industry and related sectors for evaluating solar energy. We have investigated several aspects of the Norwegian solar resource and enhanced the knowledge base for solar irradiance, algorithms for translating irradiance to produced energy, and how we can use solar energy in a socio-economic manner.
