Rezinerator Vault is an open citizen science extension of a research project led by Enric Senabre Hidalgo at Universitat de Barcelona, with the research grant RYC2022-036634-I, financed by the Spanish Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities (MICIU) and the State Research Agency (MICIU/AEI/10.13039/501100011033), with co-funding from the European Social Fund Plus (FSE+). Developed in collaboration with other researchers, activists and organizations from the pliegOS.net community. More concretely, this part of the project is a collaborative curatorial effort to preserve and (re)circulate the ephemeral knowledge and culture of zines, chapbooks and other marginal or endangered paper-based print forms.
By archiving both born-digital and digitized zines, Rezinerator Vault operates as a memory device and replication engine: a place where small-scale publishing have additional opportunities to survive, mutate and speaks across generations. It welcomes and peer-reviews contributions that respect authorship, community ethics and the creative commons spirit, aiming to develop a precious living archive for researchers, makers/printers/readers and curious souls alike.
