B!SON is a recommender system for quality-assured open access journals. It provides a ranked list of suitable open access journals based on title, abstract and references of a manuscript. The database for the machine-learning based algorithm is based on DOAJ's article-level metadata and a citation database provided by OpenCitations.
B!SON is a service by TIB and can be customized for institutions. It has been developed within a 2-year project by TIB and SLUB Dresden. The acronym B!SON stands for 'Bibliometric and Semantic Open Access Recommender Network'.
